We have an opportunity for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to the project Artificial Social Intelligence to Support Teamwork.
The post holder will help design and evaluate software for modelling and simulating human teams. The software will in turn be used by a software agent to provide intelligent guidance to the team so as to improve team performance.
Specifically, the post holder will conduct research on creating and evaluating computational models that can be used to infer the cognitive and affective dimensions of the human team members’ models of each other, including a teammate’s attitudes about another team member such as trustworthiness and their social emotions (anger, guilt, disappointment). Evaluation will include the collection of data on team performance in a rescue scenario within the Minecraft environment. Tools for visualising these affective dimensions for developers will also be explored. The work will involve collaboration with a large international effort across universities and companies.
Candidates should be qualified to SCQF level 12 (PhD) or alternatively possess the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience, with experience of personal development in a similar or related role(s) and have knowledge of the design of advanced agent-based modelling, especially Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes.
This post is full time with funding up to 30 November 2023.
