SocSimFesT 2021 Call for Session proposals

*** Apologies for crosposting ***

Following the success of the online Social Simulation Week 2020, held in September, the European Social Simulation Association is organizing a Social Simulation FesT (SocSimFesT2021), to take place 15-20 March 2021. The idea is to make best use of the alternative opportunities offered by an online meeting format to organize a different kind of event than a face-to-face conference The Social Simulation Conference 2021 will be in Cracow the week of 24 September as announced at Social Simulation Week 2020.

This is a call for session proposals at Social Simulation FesT 2021. Sessions are 1.5 hours or 3 hours in duration (the latter comprising two adjacent slots with a break in between). Session organizers are responsible for arranging the content of the session. To propose a session, please write a 300-word description of your session, whilst making clear the following (not included in the 300 words):

  2. Session timing preference (relative to Central European Time): early morning, late morning, early afternoon, late afternoon. (Precise times for these are to be decided, but assume late morning sessions will finish on or before 12:30, and early afternoon sessions start on or after 13:30; whilst early morning sessions will start on or after 07:00 and late afternoon sessions end on or before 19:00.)
  3. Session type: what kind of session you are hoping to organize. One of the following options:

     * a. Tutorials and demonstrations: guided usage of a software tool or model that participants in your session will download and try.
     * b. Introductions to social simulation: outreach on social simulation tailored to disciplines and research areas.
     * c. Seminar: focused group discussion on a particular topic with one presentation introducing it, and extended Q&A afterwards.
     * d. Workshop: facilitated group discussion using online workshop tools and breakout groups.
     *   e. Other interactive formats.

  1. A brief description of your sessions including how you will take advantage of the opportunities offered by the online format.
