agentTool III (or aT3) is a project of the Multiagent & Cooperative Robotics (MACR) Laboratory at Kansas State University. agentTool is a Eclipse-based graphical development environment to help users analyze, design, and implement multiagent systems. It is designed to support the highly tailorable Organization-based Multiagent Systems Engineering (O-MaSE) methodology. aT3 currently supports all O-MaSE models including the Goal Model, Agent Model, Role Model, Organization Model, Protocol Model, Plan Model, Capability-Action Model, Domain Model, and Policy Model.

agentTool III is developed using Java and works with Eclipse 3.3, 3.4, and 3.5 (Europa, Ganymede, and Galileo). Instructions on how to download/update to the current release is available from our downloads page at <http://agenttool.cis.ksu.edu/> http://agenttool.cis.ksu.edu/.

New Features includes in version 1.1 include new model editing functions that include attributes for agents and enhanced validation capabilities to include type checking of attributes and functions. Version 1.1 includes a code generation capability that produces skeleton code for JADE-based systems. agentTool 1.1 also supports basic metrics and policy generation based on on-going research efforts at K-State. Version 1.1 also include an "About" window that shows your current version and a registration form that allows you to register your copy of aT3 and join the aT3 mailing list.

agentTool III also includes the agentTool Process Editor (APE), which is based on the Eclipse Process Framework (EPF). APE facilitates the design, verification, and management of custom agent-oriented software development processes. APE consists of a repository of method fragments, a Process Editor to create and manage tailored processes, a Process Consistency mechanism that ensures the consistency of tailored processes, and a Process Management module that integrates APE with agentTool III and measures progress using Earned Value Analysis. In version 1.1, APE has been upgraded to work with the Eclipse Process Framework 1.5.2.

New tutorials are currently being developed to address all these changes and more!
