Hello, all -

Last year, we opened up the reading for endorsed providers to observe. We
received a lot of positive feedback from the providers who were able to
attend, and would like to once again invite you to send a representative to
the 2018 reading.

Details:

When: Travel to Kansas City, June 8, 2018. Table leader training begins
June 9 with rubric training followed by operational scoring.
Hours: June 9: 8am - 5pm
June 10: 8am - lunch break (TBD)
Where: Kansas City Convention Center, Kansas City, MO

How: Please send an email to Crystal Furman at cfurman at collegeboard.org<
mailto:cfurman at collegeboard.org> (and copy me) with the name of your
group's representative by May 4th. (We can only support 1 representative
per group.) If you have a preference of which training you would like to
observe, please include this in your email. There may be an opportunity for
you to observe the student work for each performance task, but you will not
be able to observe both training sessions as they occur simultaneously.

Tour: Last year we offered a tour of the reading site. Please let us know
if you would be interested in an hour long tour and we will make
arrangements.

We apologize, but we are unable to sponsor any of your travel expenses to
this event. Please plan accordingly.
Protocols for Observers

  *   The Reading day runs from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day.

  *   Attire: Business casual

  * Upon arriving to the Reading site, please report directly to
registration desk in the lobby to receive your reading badge. You badge
must be worn at all times when in the convention center.
Registration desk location and schedule: Lobby 2500B

              June 8: noon to 6pm
June 9: 6:30am to 6pm

  * Only observe - You will be paired with a table leader to experience
the scoring training and to view student samples. The table leader is
responsible for accurately recording the students' score. Discussion is
welcome, however, the table leader will make the final scoring decision. Do
not remove training or exam materials from the room, take photographs or
videos, use mobile devices. Avoid all distractions where possible.

  * Upon arrival, please make contact with Crystal Furman for pairing
with table leaders.

  * If you have any questions or issues to report, share information
after observations with Crystal Furman (Content Lead) or Paul Tymann (Chief
Reader). Ideally, this discussion would occur towards the end of the day,
but should happen earlier if the issue(s) require immediate intervention.

Please let us know if you have any questions,

Crystal Furman (Cel 716-574-9906) &

Monica Roman (Cel 917-655-2428)
