and passed easily.  His oral presentation was *very* smooth, he got lots of<br>
good questions, and had only one thing to address before submitting his<br>
final copy to the grad school.  Congratulations!  Now he just has two<br>
things to do - PhD proposal and PhD final defense :)<br>
