<p class="MsoNormal">The Department of Computer Science seeks to employ two postdoctoral<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">researchers to work on a project in the area of agent-based<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">modelling/multi-agent systems, under the direction of PI Professor<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Michael Wooldridge. The posts are full-time, fixed term positions,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">tenable immediately, and will be available until the end of September<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">2026 subject to satisfactory review. The positions will be based<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">within the Department’s offices in central Oxford.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The successful candidates will work with Professor Wooldridge and<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Professors Ani Calinescu and Doyne Farmer on one or more of the<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">following four areas: modelling languages for agent-based models (with<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">particular interest in probabilistic programming); populating<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">agent-based models with realistic agent behaviours (e.g., using<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">machine learning techniques); calibrating large-scale agent-based<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">models; and the validation and verification of agent-based models<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">(e.g., using techniques from game theoretic model<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">checking/synthesis). Candidates will be expected to have a PhD (or be<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">close to completion) in a related area and should indicate their<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">special area(s) of interest from the four topics above in a cover<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">letter. The primary selection criteria will be relevant research<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">experience and publication track record. Both posts are offered at<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Grade 7; we would be willing to consider a Grade 6 appointment for<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">less experienced candidates for up to one post – this would be<o:p></o:p></p>
