<p>The 2020 Enterprise Engineering Working Conference (EEWC 2020) will be the 10th working conference addressing the field of Enterprise Engineering. As it is not unlikely that there will still be Covid-19 related travel restrictions in place for several of us by September, it has been decided for the BOSK 2020 events to take place in an on-line format. This also applies to EEWC 2020.</p>
<p>Nevertheless, the goal remains to gather academics and practitioners in order to share innovative research issues and practical experiences, balancing rigour and relevance, as well as to facilitate profound discussions on the discipline of <a href="http://ciaonetwork.org/phplist/lt.php?tid=fU1RUwQBA1BTXxgHVgECGlVbDA5LDAVZC08AVlRXVwIDBgIFUANOWVRcBABWAgcaVggMA0sABgwNTwsAUgxLVwVVVVBVAQRXVl0NSlVVBQ5TXl4HSwNcCAlPBldVDEtTA1QAGwIEAgQGDAAFAlZXUg" >enterprise engineering</a>. Furthermore, as in earlier years, the proceedings of EEWC 2020 will be published as post-conference proceedings in Springer’s <a href="http://ciaonetwork.org/phplist/lt.php?tid=fU0HAFEBBwJWWBhQUQdQGlUPWlJLVQUICE8HBQYHXlcNVAAPAFBOWVRcBABWAgcaVggMA0sABgwNTwsAUgxLVwVVVVBVAQRXVl0NSlVVBQ5TXl4HSwNcCAlPBldVDEtTA1QAGwIEAgQGDAAFAlZXUg" >Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing</a> (LNBIP). The use of post-conference proceedings enables the authors to update their submissions based on the feedback from reviewers, as well as the discussions during the conference, which truly underlines the<i> working conference</i> character of EEWC.</p>
<p>In going on-line, we will take the opportunity to take a further step in turning our EEWC conferences in a community-driven working event. <del>We plan to organise the reviewing process in a more open format, involving a broader, and open, discussion within the community using an on-line discussion platform.</del> <span style="color: #00ff00;">Due to requests for a second submission window and necessity of splitting presentations on 3 rounds, in order to reduce entropy, we will not have an on-line discussion platform/forum before the conference and will dinamize this discussion on the paper presentation days.</span></p>
<p>More specifically, the plan is to have each paper go through the following process:</p>
<ol>
<li>Each submitted paper (via EasyChair) will be reviewed by three reviewers. The reviewers will be asked (1) if the current version of the paper is good enough to be <del>published on the on-line discussion platform, and (2) to provide a discussion statement regarding the paper, to kick-off the discussion on the on-line platform</del> <span style="color: #00ff00;">presented at the discussion sessions.</span></li>
<li>The discussions on the on-line platform will start <del>well ahead of the actual conference and continue to be open</del> just before and during the conference days also.</li>
<li><del>Two weeks before the conference</del> <span style="color: #00ff00;">With sufficient time before conference paper presentation/discussion rounds,</span> PC-chairs will, based on reviews <del>and discussions</del>, make a selection of papers that are to be presented. Some of these papers will already obtain confirmation of publication in Springer proceedings, some will be conditionally accepted and, after the conference might be accepted.</li>
<li>The authors will then have the option to provide an updated version of their papers. In addition, they will be required to provide a 20 minute pre-recorded video with a presentation. These will have to be provided <del>one week</del> before the actual conference <span style="color: #00ff00;">presentations</span> will take place, <span style="color: #00ff00;">according to the dates below</span>.</li>
<li><span style="color: #00ff00;">Close to</span> <del>During</del> the conference <span style="color: #00ff00;">days</span> <del>week</del>, the community will be able to read the updated version of the paper<del> and</del> watch the pre-recorded video<span style="color: #00ff00;"> and initiate discussions on an online forum</span>.</li>
<li>During the actual conference days, video-meetings will be organised in which the papers (and presentations) will be discussed in more detail.</li>
<li>After the conference, authors are required to submit an updated version of their paper<span style="color: #00ff00;"> taking into account the discussions and chairs’ feedback</span>. The latter will be re-assessed by the reviewers. Based on this, the final selection of papers to be included in the post-proceedings will be made.</li>
</ol>
<p>The above structure also allows us to be rather flexible in terms of submission deadlines <span style="color: #00ff00;">as per the dates specified below</span>.</p>
<p><del>We plan to allow (initial) submissions (see step 1 above) from the <span style="color: #ff0000;">20 July</span> until the <span style="color: #ff0000;">31st</span> of August, while we aim the on-line forum to be available as of August.</del></p>
<h3>Proceedings</h3>
<p>The proceedings of the working conference will, as always, be published in Springer’s <a href="http://ciaonetwork.org/phplist/lt.php?tid=fU0HAFEBBwJWWBhQUQdQGlUPWlJLVQUICE8HBQYHXlcNVAAPAFBOWVRcBABWAgcaVggMA0sABgwNTwsAUgxLVwVVVVBVAQRXVl0NSlVVBQ5TXl4HSwNcCAlPBldVDEtTA1QAGwIEAgQGDAAFAlZXUg" >Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing</a> (LNBIP).</p>
<p>As in the previous years, the EEWC working conference will use post-conference proceedings. This enables the authors to update their submissions based on the feedback from reviewers, as well as the discussions during the working conference. Additionally, it provides us with more flexibility regarding the submission and reviewing process.</p>

<p>Papers should be submitted in PDF format. The results described must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere. Submissions must conform to Springer’s LNBIP format and should not exceed 15 pages, including all text, figures, references and appendices. Submissions not conforming to the LNBIP format or exceeding 15 pages will be rejected without review.
