security tasks these days is to secure multimedia data by providing
confidentiality, integrity, and identity or ownership. Piracy should also be
prevented. Techniques such as digital watermarking, data encryption, multimedia
authentication, and digital rights management, among others, are proposed to
address the security problems but still facing many challenges due the special
characteristics of the multimedia data. The International Workshop on
Multimedia Data and Network Security (MDNS) aims to bring together researchers
from academia and industry and give them the opportunity to present their
