<div> About the EASSS 2018</div>

<div>The 20th European Agent Systems Summer School will be held at the department </div>
<div>of Data-Science and Knowledge Engineering of Maastricht University in the </div>
<div>Netherlands from June 18th till 22nd, 2018.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>The EASSS-2018 will offer a rich program of both introductory and advanced </div>
<div>courses on a broad range of topics in the area of Autonomous Agents and </div>
<div>Multi-Agent Systems. The courses will be taught by leading researchers </div>
<div>in the </div>
<div>field and are aimed at Masters and PhD students, </div>
<div>but can be attended by any </div>
<div>interested researcher.</div>

<div>EASSS is organised under the auspices of EURAMAS, the European Association </div>
<div>for Multi-Agent Systems.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Since 1999, the annual European Agent Systems Summer School (EASSS) has </div>
<div>provided a highly successful forum for knowledge exchange between researchers </div>
<div>in the field of Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems. The previous </div>
<div>editions of EASSS took place in Gdansk (2017), Catania (2016), Barcelona </div>
<div>(2015), Chania (2014), London (2013), Valencia (2012), Girona (2011), </div>
<div>Saint-Etienne (2010), Turin (2009), Lisbon (2008), Durham (2007), Annecy </div>
<div>(2006), Utrecht (2005), Liverpool (2004), Bologna (2003), Barcelona (2002), </div>
<div>Prague (2001), Saarbruecken (2000), and Utrecht (1999).</div>

<div>The early registration fee is € 305. This will include participation in the </div>
<div>courses, coffee breaks and lunches, and online access to the materials. The </div>
<div>late registration fee will be € 345.</div>

<div>We will organise a social event consisting of a BBQ and drinks. We expect </div>
<div>that the cost will be around € 20.</div>

<div>As in the previous years, we hope to offer some student grants to cover the </div>

<div> About Maastricht</div>
<div>******************************************************************************</div>

<div>Maastricht is the oldest city in the Netherlands. Its oldest remains are more </div>
<div>than 2000 year old and pre-date the Roman settlement. The city has a beautiful </div>
<div>historic city centre with nice squares where you can eat and drink something.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>There are different options for traveling to Maastricht. Maastricht has an </div>
<div>airport, named Maastricht-Aachen airport, with connection to a few places in </div>
<div>Europe. There is a bus going from the airport the train station of Maastricht. </div>
<div>Another possibility is Eindhoven airport, which has more connections to cities </div>
<div>in Europe. There is bus going from the airport to train station of Eindhoven. </div>
<div>There one can take the train to Maastricht, which takes one hour. It is also </div>
<div>possible to fly to Schiphol airport near Amsterdam, which is the main airport </div>
<div>in the Netherlands. The train from Schiphol to Maastricht takes two and a </div>
<div>half to three hours with a switch in Amsterdam central station or in Utrecht </div>
<div>central station. A last option by airplane is flying to Zaventem, the main </div>
<div>airport in Belgium near Brussels. The train from Zaventem to Maastricht </div>
<div>requires one and a half hours.</div>

<div>Maastricht has a train connection to the Netherlands and Belgium. When using </div>
<div>the German railways, it is recommended to take the train to Aachen and in </div>
<div>Aachen to take the bus to Maastricht. The bus requires less than one and a </div>
<div>half hours.</div>
