Be the first to test the Responsible Robotics Compass
https://robocompass.robotics4eu.eu/ Responsible Robotics Compass [ https://robocompass.robotics4eu.eu/ ](RoboCompass) is the most recent result of the Robotics4EU project. This is an innovative tool designed to assess the acceptability of robots in society, i.e. the non-technological aspects of robotics. Whether you are a robotics manufacturer, a small or large company, a researcher from industry or academia, or even an EU-funded project or policymaker, RoboCompass is here to help you. But first, you can be the one helping us test the tool and support us in creating the best possible version.
Here’s what you need to know about the RoboCompass before testing it:
Our assessment tool provides a comprehensive overview of the development of
the aspects which affect the acceptance of a robot, such as socio-economic issues,
human experience, environment, legal and data.
By using RoboCompass, you choose a user-friendly, intuitive and easily accessible tool that offers a 360-degree overview of societal issues that might affect your robot. In addition to performing diagnostics and assessments, RoboCompass also provides personalised recommendations to improve your project. You can track your progress and find useful resources in the AI-on-Demand (AIoD) platform.
The Responsible Robotics Compass is unique: it has been developed over the last three years following a bottom-up approach, selecting the topics of interest and scoring method based on consultations of the general population, robotics community and policymakers. It is a tool for the robot manufacturers community, open and continuously improved.
Now is the time to prepare for the future of robotics. But before that, we need your help. Test the RoboCompass and take the robotics innovation to the next level.

Our latest achievements
Beloved robotics enthusiasts,
I hope this finds you all in good health and high spirits. We are thrilled to bring you the fourth edition of the Robotics4EU newsletter, celebrating the remarkable strides we've made toward reshaping the robotics landscape in Europe and beyond - with the central piece the https://robocompass.robotics4eu.eu/ Responsible Robotics Compass [ https://robocompass.robotics4eu.eu/ ]. Together, through our unwavering dedication, we are forging a path to revolutionise robotics adoption in Europe, aiming to shape the future of intelligent systems in Europe and beyond.
Responsible Robotics Compass
Since our last newsletter, incredible progress has been made on our Responsible Robotics Compass (previously called Maturity Assessment Model). The compass is now accessible in a userfriendly format that allows robotics developers to assess, monitor, and receive recommendations for improvement. Additionally, the inner workings of the tool have been substantially upgraded to ensure it will always remain relevant and close to industry needs. This is achieved by following a bottom-up approach for robotics developers to self-assess their progress on Data, Environment, Human experience, Legal, and Socioeconomic dimensions. In more detail, the compass now measures the risk level and mitigation level separately for each sub-category using a growing checklist approach that allows user input - which brings us to our next point: collaboration. The tool is available, the methodology works, and we are ready for testing. With humility, we INVITE invaluable insights and inputs from the entire robotics industry to truly build the tool for and by the robotics industry in Europe. By contributing to your vision, we together create a compass that defines relevance, usefulness, and profound global impact.
Call for Collaboration
A key pillar of our success lies in the strong collaboration with industry leaders and stakeholders. Through these partnerships, we are gaining access to state-of-the-art resources and expertise, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence. Our industry collaborators have been actively involved in providing valuable insights, guiding our research toward addressing real-world challenges, and helping us align our projects with market needs.
As we continue to scale new heights, we invite organisations, researchers, and industry partners to collaborate with us on this exciting journey. Your expertise and contributions will be instrumental in shaping the future of robotics in Europe and beyond. This can be in the policy recommendations area, the evolution of the Responsible Robotics Compass, as well as for the planned co-creation workshops for Agile Production and Inspection & Maintenance.
Acknowledgments
We extend our deepest gratitude to the European Commission, our partners, and all the individuals who have supported us throughout this journey. Without your unwavering support, Robotics4EU would not be where it is today.
Thank you for being an integral part of Robotics4EU's success. Together, let's embrace the challenges of tomorrow and create a world where robotics revolutionises industries, enhances lives, and brings positive change to society.

https://www.robotics4eu.eu/news-articles/enhancing-responsible-robotics-development-and-societal-acceptance-what-should-policy-priorities-focus-on/
One of the fundamental goals of the Robotics4EU project is to advocate for responsible robotics among all stakeholder groups. Some of the responsible robotics principles can only be established with policy-makers actively engaging in promoting these principles. What should be the priorities of policies that aim to enhance responsible robotics development and societal acceptance?

The project's second citizen engagement activity involved 1045 individuals from 35 countries, seeking their insights on 11 diverse European robotics solutions. This initiative reflects a core project principle: involving citizens in shaping technology's impact on their lives. The engagement yielded valuable input on emerging robotics, now available through comprehensive reports on our https://www.robotics4eu.eu/citizen-consultation/ updated webpage [ https://www.robotics4eu.eu/citizen-consultation/ ].
