Invitation for participants
Dear all,
We would like to invite you to participate in the 4TU symposium "Vulnerability in Human-Computer Interaction". This hybrid symposium will take place on December 2nd at the University of Twente, the Netherlands, and online, from 9:00 until 13:00.
The goal of the symposium is to develop a measure of vulnerability and bridge the gap from vulnerability from a theoretical perspective to design and engineering of HCI. Studies frequently show that their HCI technology works for a large majority of their intended target group, but we would like to know why it doesn’t work for everybody? And how can we measure the level of vulnerability of a person or piece of technology?
The participants will be presented with keynote presentations from experts of different fields (philosophy, psychology, design and engineering), and then will be split in breakout sessions with the aim of constructing measures for vulnerability.
We plan on a hybrid event, in which some of the break-out sessions will be virtual, some of them will be physically located at the University of Twente. Lunch will be included for participants attending physically, from 13:00 until 14:00 CET. However, there is the possibility we will go completely virtual, depending on the local regulations.
For more information about the event and the speakers, check our website: https://sites.google.com/view/vulnerability-and-hci/
To register, please fill in the participation form by November 30th: https://www.utwente.nl/en/eemcs/hmi/hmi-forms/registration-4tu-vulnerability-symposium-2021/
Kind regards,
The Organizing Committee
