Dear Colleague,

We invite you to attend the presentation of the results of the 9th BioASQ
Workshop, which will be presented as part of the Conference and Labs of The
Evaluation Forum (CLEF2021) on 22-23 September.

Due to COVID-19 circumstances, CLEF 2021 will be an online event broadcast
from the  "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, Romania, from 21-24
September 2021. The event will be completely free of charge, so we invite
you to register at the link <https://forms.gle/bfcPqhaNDhnA1NiU8> below and
attend to see both the evaluation of these shared-tasks and the solutions
of the participating teams.

This year, in addition to the participants' talks, we will have Dina
Demner-Fushman, MD, PhD, as a keynote speaker, who will give an interesting
talk on "Challenges in answering COVID-19 pandemic questions"

About BioASQ

BioASQ  pushes for a solution to the information access problem of
biomedical experts by setting up a challenge on biomedical semantic
indexing and question answering (QA).

In the 2021 edition, 4 tasks have been scheduled:


   -

   Task Synergy On Biomedical Semantic QA For COVID-19
   -

   Task A on Large-Scale Online Biomedical Semantic Indexing
   -

   Task B on Biomedical Semantic QA
   -

   Task MESINESP on Medical Semantic Indexing in Spanish

A total of 52 participating teams have been involved in the tasks,
generating more than 175 different systems and publishing 18 papers in the
congress proceedings.
