The multi-agent laboratory in Kyushu University, headed by Professor
Makoto Yokoo, who is an AAAI (Association for the Advancement of
Artificial Intelligence) fellow and a past president of IFAAMAS
(Int. Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems), is now
hiring several post-doctoral researchers in multi-agent systems.

*Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and
established track record evident by publication in top quality
conferences and/or journals. Expertise in one or more of the following
areas is a must: game theory and economic paradigms, heuristic search
and optimization, human-aware AI, machine learning applications,
multiagent systems, reasoning under uncertainty, search and constraint
satisfaction, experimental economics, etc. 

*Place of work: Fukuoka in Japan

*Salary and benefits:
Gross salary per month (including taxes, insurances, and other things)
will be about JPY 350,000 (US$3,365). The exact amount will be decided
in accordance with the employment regulations, the successful
applicant's past accomplishments, etc.

*Contract period of employment:
The start date will be October 1, 2021(Negotiable) and
the end date is March 31, 2022, which can be extended based on mutual agreement. 

*Application:
The application process will remain open until the position is filled
by a suitable candidate. Interested applicants should submit the

(1) Academic CV, including names and contact details of 2 referees.
(2) A 2-page summary of the candidate's current/past research and a research vision statement. 
(3) Five "representative papers" describing the applicant's research.
If possible, please also include a link to a website with an online
version of your PhD thesis and relevant publications (e.g., your
professional homepage). 

Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Please put the set of
documents to be submitted in a folder and
compress it with a password (preferably in ZIP file) and send by
e-mail to the contact e-mail address. Please make the
subject of the email "Application for Postdoc Research Fellow". If the
file size of the compressed file exceeds 5MB, please email the URL of
a location where the complete set of documents could be downloaded
safely. Also, please email us the password for decompressing the
compressed file separately. After receiving the application, the
applicant will be notified with a confirmation of receipt. If you do
not receive a confirmation of receipt within 24 hours, please contact

will not be considered for further screening.
