******* About ACSOS 2021 Posters & Demos ********
***************************************************
The 2nd IEEE International Conference on Autonomic Computing and
Self-Organizing Systems (ACSOS 2021) solicits the submission of posters
and demos on specific aspects of autonomic software and systems and of
artificial self-organizing systems, particularly related to the subject
areas indicated by the ACSOS call for papers.
Posters provide a forum for authors to present their work in an informal
and interactive setting. They allow authors and interested participants
to engage in discussions about their work. In particular, a poster
submission should motivate its relevance to the communities of autonomic
computing and/or self-organizing systems, summarize the main challenges,
experiences, and novel ideas.
A demonstration should present an existing tool or research prototype.
Authors are expected to provide a demonstration during the poster and
demonstration session. A demonstration submission should clearly
describe the motivation, the novelty of the contribution, and the
applicability of the tool or prototype to specific use cases.
***************************************************
*********** Call for Posters & Demos ************
***************************************************
Posters or demonstrations can be submitted for evaluation in the form of
an extended abstract. Submissions are limited to 2 pages including
references and are required to comply with the standard IEEE Computer
Society Press proceedings style guide. All submissions must present only
original and unpublished work that is not currently under review at any
other venue.
Demonstrations must include in the abstract for the paper a link to a
video of up to 5 minutes hosted in a permanent location. The video must
show the existing tool or research prototype in action. Moreover,
demonstrations are encouraged to include a link to a website where the
source code of the produced software is available, when it is possible.
Please submit your extended abstracts electronically in PDF format using
the ACSOS 2021 conference management system,
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=acsos2021 selecting the ACSOS 21
Poster and Demo Track.
## Selection Process
All extended abstracts will be reviewed by the members of the Poster and
Demo Committee and evaluated based on novelty, impact, technical
soundness, relevance to the conference, and presentation. In case an
extended abstract presents a software tool, the online availability of
such a tool and its documentation will also be considered in the final
decision by the reviewers.
## Accepted Posters and Demos
If selected, authors shall prepare a final camera-ready version of the
extended abstract, taking into account the reviewers’ feedback. The
extended abstract of the selected posters and demos will be included in
the ACSOS Companion Proceedings, which will be published by the IEEE
Computer Society Press and made available as a part of IEEE Digital
Library. At least one author of each accepted submission is required to
register at the conference and present their work in the interactive
poster and demo session.
## Demo Guidelines
At the conference, in case the event is held virtually, authors will
present their demos by sharing their screen in a virtual session and/or
using a camera to show any other piece of equipment they may need (e.g.,
smart devices, sensors, actuators, robots, etc.). Otherwise, in case the
event is held physically, authors will present their live demos on their
laptops and are invited to bring any other piece of equipment they may
need. Software simulations or video recordings are accepted as an
alternative if a real-time demo is not possible. Additionally, authors
of the accepted demonstration submissions must also produce a digital
poster summarizing their system and demo, following the poster guidelines.
## Poster Guidelines
When preparing their digital posters authors are required to capture the
viewer’s attention effectively by presenting in a clear and concise way
the core concepts and the context of their work. Therefore, visual
representations are typically the main medium of communication in a
successful poster session. Few attendees will get interested in posters
that are not visually appealing to then make further enquiries to their
authors. If screenshots are used, please ensure that they are readable.
The recommended size for the poster is A0.
## Best Poster and Demo Awards
Two prizes will be awarded, one for the best poster and one for the best
demonstration. The award criteria include the quality of the submitted
extended abstract and the quality of the presentation during the posters
and demos session.
