[agents] Post-doc position at University of Edinburgh on representing privacy contexts

Hi All,

I am looking for a Research Associate/postdoc to work on the CONTEXT project. The aim is to develop a formal representation for contexts and show its applicability to the privacy domain. CONTEXT project is running as part of the REPHRAIN project (https://www.rephrain.ac.uk/), the National Research Centre on Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial Influence Online. The successful candidate will join School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh.

The position is open to artificial intelligence (AI) researchers with a promising publication record who have a PhD, or are close to completing their PhD, in computer science or closely related field. Good knowledge in multi-agent systems, knowledge representation and reasoning, and the privacy domain; are particularly valuable.

Some brief information about the CONTEXT project is below:

The project involves research on the development of AI techniques to protect individuals in online systems such as social networks or IoT systems. The core model will focus on the use of contextual features that are important in making privacy decisions while considering privacy preferences of the stakeholders.

The successful candidate will: (i) Develop a formal representation of privacy contexts in a formal representation language (e.g. Description Logics), (ii) Model use-case scenarios with the proposed formal representation, (iii) Develop an agent-based model that will act on behalf of an individual to preserve their privacy, and the individual will provide feedback to improve the performance of their agent.

Duration: 1 year
