Scope

As the number of smart devices and online users areincreasing, the use of social media platforms has increased to a multi-fold.Social media platforms are being used for multiple purposes such as sharingpersonal stories, connecting friends, promotions, and several other purposes. However, in recent years, it has become a trend to share news content aswell. What type of news content is being shared, Is the news fake or authentic, when the frequency of posting news articles increases, and who posts these newsarticles is becoming very interesting and worthy research.

The emerging trend of posting news via socialmedial platforms has raised numerous concerns regarding the authenticity of thenews content. To address the concerns bought by the above characteristics, webelieve that detecting fake news is a hot research area. So, it isimportant to address this issue and explore ways to address it.

The objective of this Workshop is to stimulatediscussion on recent practical/theoretical advances in detecting fake news.Papers regarding the modeling, designing, implementing, and deployment of potentialtechnologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, etc. indetecting fake news is also welcome.
