Dear Colleagues (all over the world!---and it would be greatly appreciated if you could please let any interested graduating Ph.D-program students or postdocs at your school who might not already be seeing this via this mailing list know of this posting, if you think the position might be of interest to them),

The Department of Computer Science has just posted its faculty recruiting ad, which starts:

"The Computer Science Department at the University of Rochester (http://www.cs.rochester.edu) seeks applicants for tenure-track faculty positions. We are particularly eager to hire in theory, security/privacy/cryptography, quantum computing, data management, natural language processing, and machine learning, but candidates in all areas of computer science and at any level of seniority are encouraged to apply: we are always on the lookout for unique opportunities and synergies."

"Theory" there should be read broadly (and there is also an "all areas" later in the sentence). In particular, computational social choice, algorithmic game theory, and economic paradigms in computing are very much in scope and of interest.

Also, due to the pandemic, it is very likely that interviews and job talks will be virtual/Zoom. If so, that would mean that interviews from, well, anywhere, would not require travel.

The full ad, and the link to use to apply, can be found at: https://www.rochester.edu/faculty-recruiting/positions/show/10942

The department's home page is: https://www.cs.rochester.edu

And I'd (lane "dot" hemaspaandra ``at'' icloud "dot" com; https://www.cs.rochester.edu/~lane/) be very happy to answer any questions about the position.

Cheers,
Lane
