DESCRIPTION
------------------------------
Managing privacy online continues to be a challenging task. On one
hand, regulations such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are
coming into effect with the aim of providing transparency and privacy
guarantees to users. On the other hand, privacy violations are occurring
more than ever. Increasingly, users need intelligent tools that can help
them understand, analyze, and manage privacy online. Artificial
Intelligence (AI) techniques can be used to develop new algorithms or
methods to address this.

Preserving privacy of users becomes especially difficult in
social software, where users interact extensively, such as collaborative
systems, massively online multiplayer games, or Internet of Things (IoT)
applications.
Traditional software, such as banking or e-commerce systems, allow users
to make transactions on their own account and thus ensure isolation of
transactions; i.e., one user's actions do not have affect on a second
user. However, the main idea of social software is that users'
transactions are interleaved in a way that facilitates social interaction.
For example, in online social networks, users are allowed to create and
share content about themselves and others. The content may affect others
in ways that might not be foreseen by others up front; i.e., a piece of
content may easily reach unintended individuals and further inference can
reveal more information about the user. Hence, preserving privacy in
social software requires methods that are beyond those used for
traditional software. This brings about interesting research questions such
as: How to learn the privacy preferences of users? How to ensure that each
individual's privacy is respected? How to develop software to help users to
manage their privacy better? How to explain the privacy decisions of the
software to users?

This workshop is interested in bringing together AI and privacy
researchers to tackle privacy problems with AI approaches. Topics of
interest include, but are not limited to:

* AI approaches for detecting/preventing privacy violations
* Analysis of privacy policies using AI techniques
* Collective intelligence and decision-making for privacy
* Crowd-sourcing for managing privacy
* Commonsense reasoning for privacy
* Trust in the context of privacy
* Privacy in IoT systems
* Privacy applications
* Privacy engineering
* Privacy by design
* Privacy testing and evaluation methods
* Validation and verification of privacy requirements
* Efforts for collection of privacy benchmark data
* Learning users' privacy expectations, habits, and behaviours
* User studies for understanding privacy
* Human aspects (ethical, psychological, sociological) of usable security
and privacy
* AI for explaining privacy decisions
* Privacy-aware AI

SUBMISSION and REVIEW DETAILS
------------------------------
Papers will be peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers from the Program
Committee. Criteria for the selection of papers will include: high quality,
clear presentation, novelty of research, relevance to the topics and taking
an AI-based approach, coverage of relevant state of the art and the
relevance to privacy problems.

The papers must conform to the LNCS format, we accept long and short papers
as described below:
- Long papers should present original research. A long paper must not
exceed 15 pages including references.
- Short papers may report on work in progress, demos, description of
datasets and such. A short paper should not exceed 8 pages including
references.

Papers will be submitted in PDF format via EasyChair, available at:
