PhD Studentships in Artificial Intelligence

Starting date: Jan 2019

Applications are invited for two fully-funded PhD studentships in Artificial Intelligence at Royal Holloway, University of London. The research areas of interest include (but are not limited to) planning, knowledge representation & reasoning, natural language processing, explanation, autonomous control and learning (stochastic, deep or symbolic). We expressly encourage applicants interested in applications that cut across some of these technical areas and wish to develop AI techniques in the context of interdisciplinary research for domains, such as healthcare, productivity, sustainability, transportation, and commerce.

The studentships are for three years and include a stipend of circa 16,777GBP per year plus a Home/EU fee waiver. The supervision teams for the studentships will be interdisciplinary but with the lead supervisor from the Department of Computer Science. Applicants are expected to have obtained a good degree in Computer Science or a cognate discipline, preferably at an MSc level and with a strong component in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Intelligent Systems or similar.
