The Computational Cognition Lab at Open University of Cyprus, led by Dr. Loizos Michael (http://cognition.ouc.ac.cy/loizos) announces a number of Postdoctoral Researcher, Research Assistant, and Developer positions as part of the 4-year H2020 WeNet project, with an expected start date in January 2019.

The successful candidates will work as part of the project to develop diversity-aware learning and reasoning algorithms for machine-mediated social interactions, exploiting the complementary competencies of multiple humans to solve problems that are beyond the skills of any single individual.

Opportunities:

- Postdoctoral Associates may apply for consideration for instructor positions at the M.Sc. Program in Cognitive Systems (http://cogsys.ouc.ac.cy).

- Research Assistants will be able to pursue a Ph.D. degree at Open University of Cyprus, on Computational Cognition and Artificial Intelligence.

- All successful candidates will have the opportunity to interact with researchers at the Research Center on Interactive Media, Smart Systems, and Emerging Technologies (http://rise.org.cy), and with the newly-formed group on Socially-Competent Robotic and Agent Technologies within the Center.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is expected to hold an M.Sc. / Ph.D. degree in Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, to be independent and highly motivated, and able to work in a group, to have previous experience as a researcher or developer, and to have very good knowledge of spoken and written English. Prior work on interactive machine learning, knowledge representation and reasoning, and natural language processing is highly desirable.

Remuneration:

Monthly salaries (including employer contributions) are 2000-2500 euros for research assistants and developers, and 3000-3500 euros for postdoctoral associates, for full time employment. The work-hours per month and the exact salary within the aforementioned ranges will depend on candidate qualifications.

Applicants are asked to express their interest by sending their full CV (including the names of two people for references) to Dr. Loizos Michael (loizos at ouc.ac.cy<mailto:loizos at ouc.ac.cy>) as soon as possible, and not later than November 4th, 2018, indicating whether they will be applying for any of the additional opportunities (for which there are separate procedures and deadlines). The full announcement and application procedure for the WeNet project positions can be found here: https://www.ouc.ac.cy/c/ext/documents/get_file?mainid=19068&name=WeNet_Researchers_Developers.pdf
