RESEARCHER IN ENGINEERING SELF-ADAPTIVE SYSTEMS
We are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our research team on engineering self-adaptive systems. Within imec-DistriNet, a substantial group of researchers are working on adaptive systems from different angles. We currently focus on multiple research challenges, including:
- Decentralized decision making for adaptive systems
- Executable formal modeling languages dedicated to interacting feedback loops
- Verification at runtime with statistical model checking
- Learning techniques to manage the complexity of decentralized adaptive systems
We apply our findings in case studies in innovative application settings, in particular the Internet-of-Things and multi-cloud environments.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
If you share our strong interest in engineering self-adaptation and if you:
- Have a master in computer science (or equivalent),
- Have an analytical mind and are technically skilled,
- Are committed and a team player,
- Have fluent English communication skills,
then you might be the researcher we are looking for. Expertise in self-adaptation, model verification, statistical/learning techniques, or Internet-of-Things is a plus.
WE OFFER YOU
- A supportive and collaborative team in which you can develop know-how and expertise in state-of-the-art technologies,
- The opportunity to build up research and innovation skills that are essential for a future career in industrial as well as academic research and development environments,
- Support in the further development of your competences to analyze strategic research problems and to architect and evaluate innovative solutions with industrial applicability,
- And an international and multicultural working environment at the KU Leuven High Tech Campus.
We have one 4-year position for a junior research and one 2-year position for a senior researcher (post-doc). The junior position is expected to lead to a PhD trajectory in computer science. The senior position requires a PhD in computer science on a topic related to the research challenges we currently focus at (see above).
INTERESTED?
Send your application and CV including your motivation, interests, and expertise by e-mail to danny.weyns at kuleuven.be <mailto:danny.weyns at kuleuven.be> asap and by November 15th, 2018 at the latest. Do not hesitate to get in contact if you have any questions regarding this position.
