Call for Papers
Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems
20th Anniversary Special Issue
-----------------------------------------

*** About this Special Issue ***
2018 will see the 20th anniversary of the launch of the journal, Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (JAAMAS). To mark this point, not just in the lifetime of the journal, but also in the development of the field, this special issue will seek to offer a review of what has been and a perspective on what is yet to come.

Submissions to the special issue may be in one of the different forms of articles that the journal accepts: original research papers, surveys/tutorials on areas of particular interest to the community (including those that have remained relevant throughout the last 20 years, and those that are likely to become much more so over the next 20), book reviews of particularly influential books in the last 20 years that remain so today, and viewpoints offering perspectives on the future as well as providing a valuable retrospective on the past. The aim is not simply to review what has happened, but to understand what has been learned and what might need to be done differently.

Prospective authors with questions about the intended scope are welcome to contact the special-issue co-editors. We specifically invite pre-submission of brief abstracts for editor feedback.

Special Issues are handled in the normal way via the online Editorial Manager system found at https://agnt.edmgr.com. Please choose the article type “20th Anniversary Special Issue.” Special Issue articles should fulfil all the standard requirements of any JAAMAS article. Authors should note that the same criteria apply to articles in Special Issues as to regular articles. Special Issue articles must not consist of overviews of the authors' previously published work, e.g. peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, official reports, etc.

All papers will undergo the same rigorous JAAMAS review process. Please refer to the JAAMAS website for detailed instructions on paper submission: http://www.springer.com/computer/ai/journal/10458
