Call For Papers
============
The Fourth International Workshop on Theory and Applications of Formal Argumentation (TAFA 2017) will be co-located with IJCAI 2017 in Melbourne, Australia, and builds on the success of the previous three iterations of the workshop. The workshop is inspired by the rapid growth of interest in formal models of argumentation and their application in diverse sub-fields and domains of application of Artificial Intelligence. TAFA 2017 aims to further foster uptake of argumentation as a viable AI paradigm with wide ranging application by providing a forum for further development of existing ideas and for the initiation of new and innovative collaborations. This year, TAFA will also include a systems track (see details below).
TAFA 2017 encourages submission of papers on formal theoretical models of argumentation and their application in (sub-fields of) AI, and on the evaluation of models of argumentation, both theoretical (in terms of formal properties) and practical (in concretely developed applications). We particularly encourage work on theories and applications developed through inter-disciplinary collaborations.
The workshop will solicit papers dealing with, but not limited to, the following topics:
* Properties of formal models of argumentation
* Instantiations of abstract argumentation frameworks
* Relationships amongst different argumentation frameworks
* Practical applications of formal models of argumentation
* Argumentation and other Artificial Intelligence techniques
* Evaluation of formal models of argumentation
* Validation and evaluation of applications of argumentation
System Track
This year, TAFA-17 also includes a system track.in order to provide a forum for presenting and discussing argumentation solvers, algorithms, implementation details and empirical evaluations. The track is particularly suited for, but not limited to, ICCMA (http://www.dbai.tuwien.ac.at/iccma17/) participants. The Second International Competition on Computational Models of Argumentation (ICCMA) will be co-located with TAFA-17.
As in previous editions of TAFA, selected papers will be published in a LNAI post-proceedings.
Submission Guidelines
==================
Submission to the workshop will take place via the EasyChair system, and will be anonymously reviewed. Contributors must submit papers (no longer than 15 pages) in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science style.
Submissions for the systems track should be no longer than 5 pages, and should describe an implemented system. Papers describing systems that have already been published before will be considered only if significant and clear enhancements to the system are reported.
