Applicants must have a PhD, an excellent publication record, and the ability to attract research funding. Appointment at the higher grade will be possible for suitably qualified candidates. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will contribute to research and teaching in the area of machine learning and the analysis of networks. The position is within the Agents and Intelligent Systems research group, whose current areas of focus include: multi-agent systems, agent-based modeling, argumentation, automated trading, complex adaptive systems, provenance, approximate & qualitative reasoning, and AI & law. 

It is likely that the successful candidate will be expected to teach on the MSc in Data Science, a programme jointly offered with the Mathematics Department, and on other programmes as directed by the Head of Department. An ability to help build links to other research groups within the Department, for example to the Algorithms and Bioinformatics Group, and to other research groups across King’s College London, may be deemed to be an advantage. 

It is essential that applicants have the enthusiasm and commitment required to contribute to the further development of the research standing of the Department of Informatics, and to make a full and collegial contribution to teaching and administrative activities. Duties will be assigned under the direction of the Head of Department, and will include research, teaching, examining, administration, and other duties.
