Kyushu University founded the Innovative Market Design Research Center. 
The center is looking to appoint a full-time faculty member 
capable of promoting the study of market mechanism design aggressively.

THE CENTER INFORMATION:
This center will develop the theory and mechanisms for optimizing 
the allocation of precious resources, by synthesizing/extending 
technologies from computer science and micro economics. 
This center is carried out by an interdisciplinary research team 
that consists of leading Japanese researchers in computer science 
and micro economies. 
Specific research topics include automated mechanism design, 
equilibrium analysis of repeated games based on POMDP, 
concise representation schemes for cooperative games, 
mechanism design for two-sided matching, combinatorial auctions, 
discrete convex analysis, etc. 

POSITION INFORMATION:
1. Position Title: Assistant Professor 
2. Number of Positions Available: 1 

3. Department Name: Innovative Market Design Research Center, 
   Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering

4. Area of Specialization: Artificial Intelligence, 
   Computer Science, Operations Research, Game Theory, Micro Economics

   Expertise in one or more of the following areas is desirable: 
   multiagent systems, algorithm, combinatorial optimization, 
   mechanism design, game-theory, and micro economics.

5. Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following
   responsibilities:
   (1) promote the study of mechanism design theory for sustainable 
       resource allocation
   (2) give a seminar in English at undergraduate level. 

6. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will 
   (1) have a PhD in a relevant discipline such as Artificial Intelligence, 
       Computer Science,  Operations Research, Game Theory, Micro Economics.
   (2) have proficiency in English. 

7. Starting Date: In principle, September 1, 2015 
   (Employment Period: until March 31, 2017). 
   The position will be for an initial duration of 7 months, 
   expendable for another one years depending on 
   performance and continuation.

8. Salary and Benefits: Gross salary per annum 
  (including, among other things, taxes, insurances, and commuting expenses) 
   will be about JPY 5,000,000. 
   The exact amount will be decided in accordance with the University's 
   employment regulations, the successful applicant's past accomplishments, etc.

  (2) A 1-page "statement of interest", explaining the candidate's interest 
      in the center.
  (3) Five "representative papers" describing the applicant's research.

      version of your PhD thesis and relevant publications (e.g., your
      professional homepage).
