SCOPE
Intelligent cities can be seen as cities that combine sustainable development and
quality of life. This combination relies on information and communication technologies
as well as physical infrastructures that provide essential functions for a city. To
improve life in urban environment those essential functions may concern energy
consumption, transportation, smart homes, etc. and more generally accurate services
according to users' context and needs.

In order to implement this "intelligence", numerous chips and sensors are distributed
on digital/physical/mobile devices and even on human actors. Those equipments enable
to locate human actors as well as objects, to collect measures (such as temperature, 
pollution, consumption...), etc. Besides, city-dwellers produce more and more 
information thanks to their actions on their smartphones or on mobile devices, and
thanks to their movements or activities that can be observed via sensors. 
Intelligence of cities may be seen as the result of numerous observed interactions
and actions between devices and human actors (city-dwellers), but also between
individuals themselves. This collective intelligence is the result of the "structural
coupling" between devices and human actors. It may give rise to emergent collective
services or emergent individual services depending on observed actions (behaviours)
that are recurrently achieved by one or several actor(s). Relations between the 
physical infrastructures, service offerings and actors' actions have then to be studied
to provide services that are efficient, optimal, opportunistic (even personalized) and
innovative while taking into account the context in which they are situated.

This workshop encourages submissions dealing with generic, evolutionary and
adaptive approaches using multi-agent system paradigm, based on self-regulation of 
this multitude of devices scattered in space and time in order to combine big data
obtained from sensors deployed in a city, and whose goal is to improve the quality 
of life of city-dwellers.
More generally, this workshop invites the submission of papers on substantial, original, 
and unpublished research in all aspects of Ambient Intelligence for Intelligent Cities.

SUBMISSIONS
Papers must be submitted in PDF format and not exceed 8 pages. Formatting instructions
are given at http://www.springer.com/series/4240 <http://www.springer.com/series/4240>. 
All accepted papers will be published by Springer Verlag in the Advances in Intelligent
and Soft Computing series and will be scheduled for oral presentations. At least one author
of each accepted paper is required to register and attend the workshop to present the work.
