Salary: £31,342 - £36,309 per annum

Applications are invited for this fixed-term post which is offered from the 1st of December (or soon as possible thereafter) for 15 months until the end of February 2016. The person appointed will work on a collaborative research and development project under the supervision of Professor Fasli (CSEE, Principal Investigator) and Professor Sena (EBS, Co-Investigator) and in collaboration with CambridgeIP. The project will explore and develop new semantic-based information extraction methods and techniques making use of ontologies that are aimed to facilitate more effective search in specialist corpora. The project will also investigate how user search strategies for specialist search can be captured.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the areas of semantic-information extraction, information retrieval and search, semantic web technologies and ontologies, and a strong programming background. Candidates should be graduates of computer science or information systems and be in possession of a good postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related area.
Appointment to this full-time post will be from 1st December or as soon as possible.
