Call and Topics
===============

As the boundaries of autonomous agents and multi-agent systems continue to expand, there is an increasing need for agents to interact with humans. In fact, the field of multi-agent systems has matured from conceptual models to applications within the real-world (e.g., energy and sustainability, disaster management, or health care). One significant challenge that arises when transitioning these conceptual models to applications is addressing how people interact with these systems.

This special issue is devoted to the latest advances in human-agent system design and models of human behaviour to be used in agent-human interactions. Thus, while some may take a human-centric view of human-agent systems and focus on the design of human-agent coordination mechanisms, trust management between humans and agents, or interaction techniques, others may be concerned with predictive models of human behaviour in competitive interactions with agents (e.g., negotiation, game playing).

Hence, we welcome strong contributions on all aspects of human-agent interaction, including but not limited to:
1. Architecture design of human-agent systems where the locus control may alternate between humans and agents.
2. Trust between humans and agents.
3. Presentation and interaction techniques for human-agent systems.
5. Modelling human behaviour in agent-human interactions in human-agent collectives
6. Crowdsourcing: mechanisms to allocate tasks to online crowds using gamification and incentives.
7. Use of agent-based coordination algorithms to coordinate human-agent collectives.
8. Human-Robot Interaction: the design of embodied agents as well as methods for human-robot coordination.
9. Real-world applications of human-agent interaction (e.g., energy management, consumption, transportation, healthcare, and disaster response)
