*CFP Special Issue on Technology for an Aging Society *
Inteligencia Artificial (http://journal.iberamia.org/) is an open
access journal promoted and sponsored by the Latin American Society
Artificial Intelligence (IBERAMIA-- http://www.iberamia.org). Due to the
increasing interest in the development of methods and tools for
increasing the health and the quality of life of the elderly, we are
preparing a Special Issue on Technology for an Aging Society.
The proportion of older people is increasing rapidly all over the world.
This trend has major social and economic implications. In order to
reduce costs of formal health care and to increase the quality of life
of the elder, technology needs to address various aging related
physical and cognitive health problems such as deterioration of physical
function, lack of medication adherence, cognitive decline and loneliness.
Artificial Intelligence Technologies have an increasingly important role
for promoting healthy active ageing. These technologies have been
successfully used during the last years to develop new health and
e-health applications, to promote safe independent living, to decrease
the isolation of older people, to provide specialized education
environments for the elderly and so on.
The main aim of this Special Issue is to collect contributions, surveys,
ideas, applications, case studies and relevant research advances on the
topic of the impact of intelligent technologies in the aging society.
Ideas and contributions from PhD students are also welcome.
Special focus is on multi-disciplinary approaches on the following,
non-exhaustive, list of topics:
· AI for Health
o Rehabilitation systems (including games)
o Persuasive technology for health aging
o Smart houses
o Detection and prevention of psychological illness
