CALL FOR PAPERS
IEEE OnlineGreenComm 2013
The Third IEEE Online Conference on
Green Communications
29-31 October 2013
http://www.ieee-OnlineGreenComm.org/
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The worldwide growing energy demands together with the increasing
depletion of fossil fuels have been recognized as a major challenge
that needs to be urgently addressed by society in order to have a
sustainable future. According to the U.S. Energy Department, worldwide
energy consumption is forecasted to increase by 53% from 2008 to 2035
if nothing is done to change the current trends. The Information and
Communications Technology sector (ICT) is one of the sectors with the
highest potential to reduce the growing worldwide electricity
consumption if appropriate measures are taken in a timely manner.
In this context, IEEE OnlineGreenComm 2013, the third edition of IEEE
Communications SocietyÕs Online Conference on Green Communications
solicits original, unpublished research papers both from academy and
industry reporting on substantial results in the green communications
area enabling significant future energy savings. A selection of the
best papers (substantially revised versions) accepted at the conference
will be considered for a fast track in a high quality, SCI/SCI-E
indexed journal. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Green Solutions for Communications Technologies
- Energy-efficient networking and protocols
- Energy-efficient communications management
- Energy-efficiency in wired networks
- Energy-efficiency in wireless networks
- Energy-efficiency in vehicular networks
- Energy-efficiency in data centers
- Energy-efficiency in content delivery networks
- Energy-efficient secure networking
- Measurement & profiling of energy consumption
- Standardization efforts
Green Society Solutions based on Communications Technologies
- Smart Cities
- Smart Sensing
- e-Health
- Energy-efficient buildings
- Energy harvesting
- Industrial automation
- Machine-to-Machine communications (M2M)
