OVERVIEW

Research on multi-agent systems has shed light onto and provided solutions to many real-life problems. As the field matures, academics and industrialists benefit from European-based forums where state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice are presented and discussed. The EUMAS series of events have served this purpose and in this 10th edition (following Maastricht, The Netherlands, 2011; Paris, France, 2010; Aiya Napa, Cyprus, 2009; Bath, England, 2008; Hammamet, Tunisia, 2007; Lisbon, Portugal, 2006; Brussels, Belgium, 2005; Barcelona, Spain, 2004; Oxford, England, 2003) we shall carry on in this tradition. The EUMAS series of workshops is primarily intended as a European forum at which researchers, and those interested in activities relating to research, in the area of autonomous agents and multi-agent systems can meet, present (potentially preliminary) research results, problems, and issues in an open and informal but academic environment.

SUBMISSIONS

Submission of papers describing relevant preliminary or completed work are invited.  EUMAS welcomes papers that are original, or are under submission, will be presented or have already been presented at relevant international conferences.  The workshop is intended as a forum for interaction and discussion, and we especially invite submissions by students, who can receive valuable feedback from this discussion-oriented focus. Preliminary student work is welcome, as long as it possesses sufficient substance for serving as a basis for discussion.

All submissions should be formatted using Springer's LNCS style and have a maximum of 15 pages. We request the submission of title and abstract prior to the paper submission, to help meet the tight reviewing schedule. The workshop has no formal proceedings; it is intended primarily as a forum for interaction and discussion. The workshop will provide proceedings to registrants electronically (on a USB stick).  Depending on the quality, we intend to invite a selection of extended versions of original (not previously published) submissions to be included in relevant journal special issues.

LOCATION

University College Dublin (UCD) (http://www.ucd.ie) is a dynamic, modern university where cutting-edge research and scholarship provide a stimulating intellectual environment - the ideal surroundings for learning and discovery. It is located approx 8km from Dublin city centre and is served well by public bus routes. There are several hotels nearby.

The School of Computer Science and Informatics (http://www.csi.ucd.ie/) has become established as the leading center for Computer Science in Ireland and was ranked 1st in ireland and in the top 30 in Europe in the 2011 QS World University Rankings. Currently, there are approximately 30 full-time academic staff and 120 full-time Ph.D. students. The workshop will be hosted internally within the School.
