OPEN CALL TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ONLINE SURVEY ON APPLICATION IMPACT OF
MULTI-AGENT SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES (MAS&T)
While research on MAS&T is thriving, there are only few attempts to
study the application impact this research and technology has had so far
-- beyond publications in scientific journals and conferences (which
usually do not select work on the grounds of application impact).
We are therefore currently carrying out a survey on application impact
of MAS&T. As a first step, we are collecting pointers to important
deployed work with practical impact in the area of MAS&T, academic as
well as industrial, labeled "agents / MAS" or differently. Based on the
input we receive, we are going to look in more detail at the most
promising / often referred to work in a second stage.
To support the collection of data, we have prepared an online survey.
Here we ask for the help of the community (i.e., YOU):
1. Please visit http://winf.in.tu-clausthal.de/jpm/agent-survey
2. By using the web form, you can nominate up to three deployed
applications of MAS&T (if you wish, you can nominate more by filling in
the form multiple times).
There is no ranking implied by the order in which you list the
applications.
You are encouraged to list own work too, including unpublished
deployed work, e.g. with industrial partners.
In this case, we may get back to you in the seond step and ask for
additional information.
3. For each application, we kindly ask you for some meta-data including
references in order to help us finding out more about it.
The criteria that define the scope of the survey are described at
http://winf.in.tu-clausthal.de/jpm/agent-survey/impact.html
A plain-text version of the survey is attached to this mail.
We kindly ask you to fill in the online survey or return the plain-text
survey no later than
SEPTEMBER 15, 2012.
It is our hope that this work will turn out useful for the agents/MAS
community.
Best regards and thanks in advance for contributing,
Joerg P. Mueller and Klaus Fischer
