The topics of interest are (not exclusively):

- theoretical foundations of social simulation
- methods and models for social simulation
- AI and MAS tools, techniques, models and environments for
socialsimulation

- applications of social simulation (in research anthropology,sociology,
political science, economy, government, management,education, health,
emergency services, policy making, financial riskmanagement, natural
disaster management, national security, armedconflict etc.)

- NOTIFICATION TO AUTHORS: August 20, 2012
- CAMERA-READY COPIES OF PAPERS: August 30, 2012
- DEADLINE FOR AUTHOR REGISTRATION: August 30, 2012W
- WORKSHOP DATES: 20-21 October, 2012

PAPER FORMAT:
Papers should be written in English, with at most 16 pages, and submitted
in PDF format, following the Springer LNCS style (see
http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). The submission system will
be JEMS/SBC at

PROCEEDINGS
The papers accepted for the workshop will be published in the Workshop
Proceedings CD Room with ISSN.

BEST PAPERS
Extended versions of the two best papers presented at the workshop,
selected by the Program Committee, will be invited to be submitted for the
JBCS - Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society -

IEEE POST-PROCEEDINGS
Post-proceedings will be published by IEEE, with papers related to the
invited talks and panel, and new versions of the technical papers,
including the discussions and suggestions aroused at the workshop oral
presentations.
