CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS

The Joint International Semantic Technology Conference (JIST) is a joint 
event for regional Semantic related conferences. Besides the main technical 
programme, JIST will host a number of workshops on topic related to the 
general theme of the conference. As an important part of the conference, 
the workshop program will focus on new research challenges and initiatives. 
The Workshops aim to provide a scientific exchange in specialized sub-areas 
of the Semantic Technology and Linked Data among researchers, and to allow 
authors to present new achievements and discuss emerging trends in methods 
and technologies with dedicated audience. Detailed information is available

Submission Guidelines
++++++++++++++++++++++

Workshop organizers should submit their proposals (PDF or Word files) 
directly to both Workshop Chairs via e-mail.

Workshop proposals should include the following elements:

- Title of the workshop
- Names of workshop organizers, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail address
- A description of the topics of the workshop (not exceeding 200 words)
- Type of the workshop (full-day or half-day)
- A description of how the workshop will contribute to the field of the 
  Semantic Technology and Linked Data
- A short description on how the workshop will be advertised so as to ensure 
  a sufficiently wide range of authors and high quality papers

Workshop Organizers
+++++++++++++++++++

The workshop organizers will be responsible for advertising the workshop, 
forming the program committees, reviewing and selecting the papers, and 
guaranteeing a high quality worthy of the prestige and range of the 
conference. All papers accepted for workshops will be distributed to the 
workshop participants as the Workshop Notes. Submissions must be in PDF 
format, using the style of the Springer Publications format for Lecture 
Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). Submissions must be no longer than 16 
pages.

The workshop organizers will also have the discretion of editing selected 
papers (after their expansion and revision) into books or special journal 
issues. Workshops may be full-day or half-day. The workshop organizers 
should ensure the presence of authors of accepted papers at the workshops. 
After the acceptance of a workshop proposal the organizer(s) should:

- Create a "Call for papers/participation" for the workshop
- Create a web page for the workshop, the link of which will be put on the 
  Conference Web site
- Create a board of Reviewers (Program Committee)
- Review and select papers
- Schedule the workshop activities

Those papers selected by a workshop organizer will also be reviewed by the 
workshop chairs for final acceptance. All submitted papers should be reviewed 
on the basis of technical quality, relevance, significance, and clarity.

There is a sufficiently large community interested in new research challenges.

- Semantic Web Services
- Web of Things 
- Semantic Sensor Web
- Management and Evaluation of Semantic Web Technologies
- Ontology Engineering (mapping, merging, and alignment)
- Social Networks on the Semantic Web
- User Interfaces to the Semantic Web
- Information Visualization of Semantic Data and Linked Data
- Semantic Technologies for Government 2.0 and eHealth
- Web Science
