The University of Luxembourg has the following vacancy in the Computer Science and Communication research unit (CSC):
- Doctoral Candidate (Ph.D. student) in Computer Science (m/f)
- Fixed-term contract 3 years, 40h/week, may be extended up to 4 years.
- Employee status (start date: as soon as possible)

Area: Optimisation, scheduling, cloud computing, energy efficiency.

Your role
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Research in optimized middleware and protocols for energy efficient cloud computing.
- Research and development in optimization algorithms (exact, approximated, hybrids).
- Teaching labs in Computer Science (2h/week)

Your profile
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- A Master degree Computer Science, Operation Research, Applied Mathematics or equivalent.
- Solid experience in at least in programming.
- A good working knowledge of basic statistical concepts.
- Previous experience in networks, cloud computing or optimization is an asset.
- Excellent working knowledge of English.
