Call for Papers - IWSDM2011 The 1st International Workshop of Sensor Data Mining

http://www.ai.sanken.osaka-u.ac.jp/iwsdm11/

to be held as part of the
Eighth International Conference on Networked Sensing Systems (INSS2011)

June 12-15, 2011  Penghu, Taiwan
http://www.inss-conf.org/2011/

#Scope and Theme
   Humans can usually infer another intention. This ability to infer
   is given names such as "nonverbal communication" and "thought
   transference". To construct the relationship between humans and
   the environment in which inferring intentions is possible,
   sensor-network is necessary as for infrastructure. Humans can
   learn each others habitual behavior over a long period of time
   based on the five senses: touch, taste, hearing, sight, and
   smell. Therefore, to construct a relationship between humans and
   the environment, we need to incorporate these perceptive abilities
   into the environment. The environment with these perceptive
   abilities can be called "sensing-networks/sensor-network".

   However most important function to construct the "thought
   transference" relationship is "human behavior mining". Human
   behavior mining consists of the following: collecting a huge
   amount information on human behavior from various sources,
   extracting the habitual behavior, and finally inferring intentions
   based on this habitual behavior.

   And to extract the habitual behavior the sensor data mining is
   core technology. So, in this WS, we will discuss algorithms,
   system architecture, and application concerned about sensor data
   mining. Topics of interest (but not limited to):

#Any topic related to "sensor data mining"

   * sequential data mining
   * time series data mining
   * graph mining
   * path analysis

#Submission and Important Dates
   Authors are invited to submit a paper of 4-8 pages describing
   their original works. All papers should be formatted according to
   the "IEEE transactions" as INSS main conference. Papers will be
   peer-reviewed, and accepted papers will appear in the workshop
   proceedings.
