5th Workshop on Adaptive and DependAble Mobile Ubiquitous Systems-- ADAMUS ’11 --Hong Kong, China. June 27-30, 2011In conjunction with the 41st Annual IEEE/IFIP InternationalConference on Dependable Systems and Networks - DSN 2011

Workshop Theme: "Dependable Ubiquitous Computing"--------------------------------------------------------------------
CALL FOR PAPERSThe widespread industrial uptake of mobile and ubiquitous systemsis still compromised due to the highly error-prone and heterogeneousmobile provisioning environment, which induces several impairmentsto the normal operation. Thus, how to improve dependability of thesesystems is still an open issue. Despite a variety of research studieshave been produced, it is still unclear whether current solutionsare able to achieve the dependability level imposed by emergentmobile ubiquitous applications, such as smart urban mobility, wire-less control of robots, and ambient assisted living. This is par-tially due to the lack of interaction between ubiquitous computingand dependable computing research communities. The ambition andmission of ADAMUS is to put on the foreground all above issues andto help bridge the gap between these research communities.ADAMUS'11 builds on the success of last year's, and invites novelcontributions/papers of dependable ubiquitous computing fromfundamental aspects to various practical applications.

ADAMUS '11 will focus on the following research themes:
- Dependability and adaptation requirements and open issues formobile ubiquitous systems;- Design principles, models, and techniques for realizingdependable and adaptive mobile ubiquitous systems;- Context data provisioning and modelling, and context-basedinfrastructures;- Frameworks and techniques enabling advanced dependableapplications on ubiquitous systems;- Human-machine interaction and usability;- Multi-device and highly heterogeneous ubiquitous systems;- End-to-end approaches to the quality of experience of mobileservices;- Autonomous systems for adaptation and dependability;- Mobile-enabled middleware architectures and standards forheterogeneous, dependable networks;- Dependability and scalability of web technologies to ubiquitoussystems;- Architectures for resource and network monitoring and adaptationto networks conditions;- Dependability measurement studies of mobile systems and services;- Cellular networks and mobile phones dependability issues;- Experience on real-world applications or prototypes of adaptiveand dependable mobile ubiquitous systems.- Resilience of evolvable systems and services;- Model-driven engineering of adaptive and dependable systems.

PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINESADAMUS 2011 invites authors to submit original and unpublished work.Papers must be written in English and should not exceed 6 pages.Submissions must adhere to the IEEE Computer Society camera-ready8.5"x11" two-column camera-ready format. Further details can befound at http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting. Eachpaper must be submitted as a single Portable Document Format (PDF)file. Instructions for the online submission of manuscripts willbe available on the Web site (http://www.adamus.ua.ac.be).Acceptance implies that at least one of the authors will registerand present the paper. Workshop papers will be published and archivedon IEEEXplore in a workshops only "DSN-W" volume that appearsseparately from the main DSN volume and can be cited using itsown ISBN number.
