The 12th International Conference on Principles of Practice
in Multi-Agent Systems (PRIMA-2009)

               Call for Demonstrations

PRIMA-2009 will hold a demonstration session aiming to encourage demonstrations on practice of prototype and deployed agent and multiagent systems. The demonstration session will be held as a part of the main conference. We would like to call any kind of softwares as practices of agent and multiagent systems. Examples of demos are as follows.

* Industrial applications
* Agent/Multiagent platforms
* Development tools for agent/multiagent-based systems
* Robotic systems
* Human-like agent systems
* Ubiquitous systems
* Games and interactive virtual environments
* Multiagent simulation environments

Demonstrations are not limited to the above topics. Especially, challenging demonstrations which potentially pioneer new application areas are very much welcomed.

The demonstration session is responsible for considerable role according to the perspective of PRIMA. PRIMA officials expect to boost agent/multiagent research activities which focus on practical aspects. Demonstrators are expected to present their latest practices on agent and multiagent system. Additionally, we strongly encourage students to submit demos even if systems have not been completed yet. It is valuable for research communities to discuss potential systems and works.

Submissions accepted for the demonstration session will be advertised on the PRIMA website with abstracts of all available demos.
For each demo submission, it is required to send the following two materials:

1. A 2-pages paper in which the authors describe the system to be demonstrated. The paper should describe the application domain/problem/scenario, the agent/multi-agent
techniques involved, and its appealing points, etc. We encourage to include snapshots of the system. Papers have to be formatted according to Springer Lecture Notes specifications (please seehttp://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-12-73062-0).

2. Additional information in a plain text file including the
following information:
- Demonstration title
- Authors (name, affiliation, email, address, phone)
- The corresponding author with her/his email address
- URL (if available)
- Equipment you will bring (e.g., laptop, robot)
- Equipment you will need (e.g., table, poster board, power sockets)
- Special requirements (e.g., space for robot and if so how much,
video projector)

All demonstration proposals should be send to hatto at i.kyoto-u.ac.jp
Submission Deadline: 30th October, 2009

[Selection Process]

Each submission will be assessed by the demonstration chairs and at least one member of the PC members. The authors will receive a brief report with the result of the evaluation with the notification.
The main evaluation criteria are:

* Relevance to agent/multiagent areas
* Potential for public interaction
* Quality and soundness of the underlying technology
* Novelty of the application domain

Notification of acceptance or rejection of submitted demos will be sent to the corresponding author by 5th November. At least one author of each accepted demonstration is required to register and to attend the conference to give the demonstration.
