The Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA;
www.sicsa.ac.uk) aims to create a world-leading Computer Science
research community across the universities in Scotland. As part of
this initiative, Computing Science at The University of Aberdeen
wishes to appoint a new Chair (Full Professor) and a new Lecturer
(Assistant Professor) in Computing Science.

For the Chair in Computing Science, applicants should be distinguished
academics with a strong publication record, and have experience of
supervising postgraduate research students and a track record of obtaining
external research funding. The new Professor will be expected to
create a world-class research group in Aberdeen, and actively
participate in the SICSA research community in Scotland. The SICSA
themes are Next-Generation Internet, Multi-Modal Interaction,
Abstraction and Modelling, and Complex Systems Engineering, and we
would particularly welcome applications from candidates whose research
bridges two or more of these themes.

For the Lectureship, applicants should have an emerging international
reputation for quality research and have the potential to be a future
research leader. Candidates will have developed plans for future
research, an excellent record of publications in peer-reviewed
journals/conferences, and will be able to show evidence of the ability
to generate external income.
