======================================================================
                         SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
                 ICAPS'08 Multiagent Planning Workshop
======================================================================

Sydney, Australia
September 14 or 15, 2008
http://masplan.isr.ist.utl.pt

Planning for multiagent systems is a broad field with many
applications, but its subfields remain rather dispersed. This workshop
aims to bring together researchers working on multiagent plan
coordination, multiagent planning architectures, decision-theoretic
and game-theoretic approaches, distributed plan management, and
related techniques. Despite the diversity, several common issues exist
like scalability, representing uncertainty, and dealing with
conflicting preferences or goals.

In particular, the focus of workshop will be *modeling for multiagent
planning*, as a common theme that will benefit from interaction
among the different sub-communities. Hence, we solicit papers on the
following topics:

  - alternative models of communication, interdependencies,
    interaction, and decentralization and their challenges
  - exploiting domain-specific information to simplify models of
    multiagent planning problems
  - techniques to overcome multiagent planning complexity
  - alternative models for multiagent scheduling
  - suitability of existing/new models for applications

We encourage authors to address directly at least one of these issues
in their submissions. Papers will be selected for presentation by a
review process conducted by the Program Committee members. Submissions
should be in the ICAPS'08 format with a maximum of 8 pages and are to
be uploaded in PDF format at
http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=masplan08 by June 18.
Short position papers (2 page maximum) are also welcome. Authors of
position papers may be asked to participate in a panel discussion or
give a short presentation, depending on the number of position papers
and their topics. We will consider papers recently published at
conferences if they are clearly marked as such.
