===============================================================
The PAIS 2008 Program Committee invites papers describing innovative applications of AI techniques to real-world systems and problems for the Technical Program of the 5th International Conference on the Prestigious Applications of Intelligent Systems − a sub-conference of the 18th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2008). Papers highlighting all aspects of the application of intelligent system technology are most welcome. Our aim is to provide a forum for academic and industrial researchers and practitioners to share experience and insights on the applicability, development and deployment of intelligent systems. PAIS is the largest showcase in Europe of real applications using AI technology and the ideal place to meet with those working to make successful applications.
Submissions must not exceed five pages in camera-ready format. Papers should be submitted following the instructions and formatting style described on the conference website (http://www.ece.upatras.gr/ecai2008/substyles.htm). Each accepted paper will be allocated five pages in the proceedings. All submissions will be subject to review by the PAIS 2008 Program Committee, all of whom have significant experience with real-world problems and applications. To allow for anonymous reviewing, the author names in a submitted paper should be replaced by the unique tracking number assigned by the conference system at the submission of a summary form, to be filled in before February 22, 2008. Authors should avoid identifying self-references in their text.
Review criteria include the maturity of the application, the nature of the intelligent systems techniques used, and the potential impact of the system. Notification of acceptance or rejection of submitted papers and posters will be mailed to the corresponding author by April 28, 2008.
The proceedings of the PAIS conference will be published in a special section of the ECAI 2008 proceedings (which will be distributed by IOS Press as a book and as a CD-ROM). The authors will be responsible for producing camera-ready copies of papers, conforming to the PAIS 2008 formatting guidelines for inclusion in the proceedings. The deadline for receipt of the camera ready copy is May 26, 2008. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to attend the conference to present the contribution.
